(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – President Maithripala Sirisena says necessary steps will be taken for the welfare of war heroes.
The Head of State said the present government was able to restore training opportunities that were taken away from the Sri Lanka Armed forces by powerful countries.
Speaking at an event held in Mullikulam, the President said the United States has also extended its support to provide the Navy with high technical education and training opportunities.
A marine unit was established under the Sri Lanka Navy Commander for the first time in history today. Accordingly, the Sri Lanka Navy Marine Corp will operate as the newest unit in the world.
