Wimal summoned to CID  

Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa has been summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department’s (CID) Special Investigations Unit 4 tomorrow (09) at 9:00 a.m.

The summons has been issued in connection with a complaint concerning the alleged release of 323 containers imported to the Colombo Port without proper inspection by Sri Lanka Customs.

Weerawansa has been asked to provide a statement over comments made by him at a media briefing held on January 29, 2025, regarding the matter, according to the notice.
