Weapons discovered from Moratuwa shooting suspect

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Police say a cache of weapons was discovered from the Moratuwa residence of the suspect who was involved in the recent shooting incident at a restaurant in Soysapura.

Police said a foreign-made hand grenade and two bullets used for T-56 firearms were discovered during a raid.

A group of officers attached to the Mount Lavinia Police arrested the 32-year old suspect in Buttala, yesterday.

The three-wheeler that was used to transport the T-56 firearm reported used by the suspect in the shooting, to another location was also seized by Police.

The shooting incident was reported on the 29th of May. The Mount Lavinia Police is conducting further investigation.
