Warning issued over possible power failures

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Power failures could occur today in several parts of the country due to a malfunction of a turbine at the Norochcholai power plant, stated the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).

About two weeks ago, a similar broke down took place at the Norochcholai power plant which provides approximately 25% to the national electricity grid, resulting in islandwide power outages.
