Vegetable prices likely to increase further

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Traders say local vegetable prices are expected to increase further in the upcoming days.

A kilogram of green chillies was sold for Rs.1,000 at the Narahenpita and Bokundara Economic Centres yesterday.

Meanwhile, a kilogram of capsicum was sold at Rs.800 at several economic centres.

Furthermore, a kilogram of limes at the Dambulla Economic Centre was sold at between Rs. 590 and Rs. 600.

Among local produce, a kilogram of pumpkin was sold for between Rs.80 and Rs.100.
