(UTV | COLOMBO) – The leader of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya Sajith Premadasa says the founder of the party is the Working Committee of the United National Party, claiming UNP memberships cannot be terminated.
Speaking to media pertaining to the decision by the UNP Working Committee to suspend almost 100 UNPers who submitted nominations to contest the General Election under a different party, Premadasa said the Samagi Jana Balawegaya will legally prove that such a move cannot be executed.
He therefore claimed that disciplinary inquiries cannot be held against UNP members who are part of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.
Premadasa noted that legal action cannot be taken against any UNPer that is part of the alliance that submitted nominations for the General Election.
