Two new COVID-19 cases confirmed; Total count at 893

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Two more persons have tested positive for COVID-19 virus in Sri Lanka, says the Ministry of Health.

These two new cases have moved up the confirmed cases count to 893.

Earlier today, two navy men were confirmed to have contracted the virus while 16 patients were discharged hospitals after recovering completely.

Sri Lanka’s recoveries tally currently stands at 382.

A total of 502 active cases are currently receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH), Base Hospital in Welikanda, Colombo East Base Hospital, Iranawila Hospital, Base Hospital in Kattankudy, Navy Hospital and Base Hospital in Homagama.

The island has confirmed 9 coronavirus deaths so far.
