Three killed in accident in Peradeniya

UTV | COLOMBO – Three persons were killed and three others were injured in an accident involving a motorcycle and a three-wheeler in Karamada, Peradeniya.

Police said a pedestrian walking along the road in Karamada on the Peradeniya-Gampola road, was hit by a motorcycle yesterday evening.

The pedestrian who collapsed on the road was then run over by a three-wheeler which followed the motorcycle. The three-wheeler toppled over after crashing into a car.

Police said four persons including the pedestrian, the three-wheel driver and the motorcycle rider were admitted to the Gampola, Kandy and Peradeniya hospitals following the accident.

The 54-year-old pedestrian, a resident of Gelioya and a couple aged 53 and 54 who were passengers in the three-wheeler have succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment.
