Sri Lanka will not retaliate against U.S. tariff hike: Presidential Advisor

The Government has no plans to retaliate by increasing tariffs on U.S. goods in response to the 30 percent tariff currently imposed on Sri Lankan exports, Senior Advisor to the President Duminda Hulangamuwa said.

Speaking at an ongoing media conference, Hulangamuwa emphasised that Sri Lanka remains committed to maintaining stable and cooperative trade relations with the United States, despite the tariff pressure.

“We have no intention of responding with similar measures,” he added.
