Shout! Factory has closed a worldwide multiyear distribution deal to acquire ten Kenny Rogers-led films including all five of his “The Gambler” telemovie series.
More importantly the deal includes remake rights which paves the way for a TV series reboot based on the card-playing, adventure-seeking Brady Hawkes character which the late Rogers played over a span of fourteen years.
Shout! Studios is developing and will produce the updated series which will be shopped outside Shout!’s own streaming platform. The deal also includes two “MacShayne” films and features like “Coward of the County,” “Wild Horses” and “Rio Diablo”.
