(UTV | COLOMBO) – The police stated that a couple from Mattakkuliya has been arrested in connection to the body of a female found in a travelling bag at a garbage dump in Sapugaskanda.
A lorry has also been taken into police custody.
The suspects were arrested by Kelaniya Divisional Crime Investigation Division.
It is also reported that the arrested couple were aged 36.
Further investigations are being carried out for other suspects who could be involved with the murder.
The deceased was identified to be 44-year-old mother of two, Mohammed Shafi Fatima Mumtaz, a resident of the Maligawatta apartment complex.
