(UTV | COLOMBO) – The incident pertaining to Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen’s brother-in-law is a political conspiracy, the Opposition raised concerns in Parliament yesterday (07).
“Do you know? A case was filed against MP Rishad’s brother-in-law. That a woman was raped. He was imprisoned for several weeks. When the medical report came in, the woman was a virgin,” the Chief Opposition Whip Parliamentarian Lakshman Kiriella said addressing the Members of Parliament (MPs).
The incident is a political conspiracy, MP Kiriella stressed.
“As such there is not a shred of evidence against MP Rishad. We condemn this detention which violates the privileges of a MP,” the Chief Opposition Whip added.
