(UTV | COLOMBO) – Leader of the All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) Party, Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen has issued a message on his Twitter account expressing his gratitude to everyone, including local and international organisations, who helped him achieve justice.
He was arrested under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) and remanded for about 6-months and was released on bail on last 14th.
The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) has expressed its gratitude for the release of the former Minister.
The #IPU is pleased that #SriLanka🇱🇰 parliamentarian @rbathiudeen was finally released on bail following his arrest under the Prevention of #Terrorism Act.
The IPU will closely monitor his trial.
