Rishad files complaint with CID against Wimal [VIDEO]

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Parliamentarian Rishad Bathiudeen today (10) filed a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) against a public statement made by Minister Wimal Weerawansa.

Weerawansa yesterday (09) claimed that both former Minister Bathiudeen and his brother had been in touch with Zahran Hashim, who believed to have masterminded the Easter attacks in Sri Lanka.

Speaking to media after filing his complaint with the CID, the Leader of the All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) strongly denied the allegations made against him as being politically motivated.

Former Minister Bathiudeen challenged Weerawansa to prove the allegations raised against himself and his brother, and emphasised that he trust the CID will immediately commence investigations into his complaint.

He further called on the CID to initiate legal action against Weerawansa following the completion of the investigation.
