Quarantine curfew lifted

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The quarantine curfew imposed in the country for the past 41 days was lifted from 04:00 a.m. today (01).

However, despite the lifting of the curfew, inter-provincial restrictions will be suspended while all non-essential travel will not be permitted daily from 10.00 p.m. to 4.00 a.m.

A series of new health guidelines to be followed after the reopening of the country, has been issued by the Director-General of Health Services.

On public transport, passengers can only be carried in seating capacity, and air-conditioned vehicles should not be used and windows should be left open.

In addition, from today (01) until 31 October you will be able to leave home only for official duties and to buy essential items.
