Principals requested to refrain from seeking additional funds or donations

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Education in a Circular to all Government School Principals has requested them to refrain from seeking any additional funds or donations from parents when admitting grade 1 students to leading schools this year.

The Circular noted that if such undue donations are accepted, the Principals would be considered to have accepted bribes from parents according to the existing law.
