Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala has revealed that Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan, also known as “Pillayan”, had prior knowledge of the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks while he was in custody at the Batticaloa Prison.
“We have strong evidence to say that he knew about the attacks before they happened,” the Minister stated, citing ongoing investigations.
The claim marks a significant development in the long-running probe into the coordinated bombings that killed over 250 people.
