Paris Club assures fullest support to Sri Lanka to overcome the debt crisis

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Paris Club, a group of 22 creditor nations has assured its fullest support to Sri Lanka to overcome the current debt crisis.

The assurance was given by the Co-Chairman of the Paris Club, William Roos during a meeting with State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe in Washington.

State Minister Semasinghe said Co-Chairman of the Paris Club William Roos assured the Paris Club’s fullest support to Sri Lanka’s ongoing efforts to find an early solution to its debt crisis.

State Minister Shehan Semasinghe is currently in Washington heading the Sri Lankan delegation attending the IMF and World Bank annual meetings.

The Paris Club has also reached out to China and India seeking to coordinate closely on Sri Lanka’s debt restructuring process.
