Palitha Thevarapperuma not in critical condition

UTV | COLOMBO – The Nagoda District General Hospital says former Parliamentarian Palitha Thevarapperuma who sustained injuries in an assault is not in critical condition.

The former MP sustained injuries on a hand and foot.

Thevarapperuma visited a site in Welkandala, Mathugama where it was reported that the laying of pipelines was not being carried out efficiently.

The former MP was then assaulted when an argument broke out between him and a group of contractors at the site.

Injured Thevarapperuma who filed a complaint with the Matugama Police, was then admitted to the Nagoda District General Hospital for treatment.

Police said statements will be recorded from the contractors in question.
