Order obtained to remove protesting Port staff

UTV | COLOMBO – The Police says a Court order was obtained at 6:30 last evening to remove trade union members engaged in a protest obstructing the main entrance to the Colombo Port.

Accordingly, Police said the 23 trade unions engaged in the strike action have set up a temporary shelter and are engaged in a satyagraha campaign adjacent to the Port.

The Police said the road has not been obstructed adding that other operations at the Port are being carried out.
