More powers to Finance Commission

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Government has decided to prepare a Finance Commission Act to promote the role of the Commission by giving more powers to play a major role according to the Constitution of Sri Lanka.

On the proposal of President Maithripala Sirisena, the Cabinet of Minister has decided to instruct the Legal Draftsman to draft a bill on this regard. The recommendation made by the Sub-Committee appointed on this subject also consider in this process.
