Modi says his Govt. ensured release of fishermen detained by Sri Lanka

(UTV | TAMIL NADU) – Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has vowed to protect fishermen’s interests, saying no Tamil fishermen is now in Sri Lankan custody.

He said his Government is concerned about the welfare of the fishermen in Tamil Nadu and due to his Government’s efforts no Indian fisherman is in jail in Sri Lanka.

The Prime Minister made this remarks addressing an election at Agastheeswaram in Tamil Nadu.
