Former “The Americans” and “Felicity” star Keri Russell will play the title character in the Netflix political thriller series “The Diplomat”.
Russell will also be an executive producer on the show in which she will play Kate Wyler, a career diplomat in the midst of an international crisis. She lands in a high-profile job she is unsuited for – resulting in massive implications for her marriage and her political future.
The project hails from Debora Cahn (“Homeland,” “Grey’s Anatomy”) and is set to film in the UK. This will mark her first series regular role since FX’s “The Americans” wrapped in 2018.
