Inter city trains to operate from tomorrow

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Department of Railways states that intercity express train services will commence from tomorrow.

General Manager of Railways Dhammika Jayasundara told that a decision will be taken next week regarding the night mail train and the train running after 7 pm under the normal schedule.

Only the inter-provincial office train was operated from the 1st of this month after the removal of the inter-provincial travel restrictions.

However, after 7 pm, long distance service trains as well as short distance trains will not operate as usual.

The Department of Railways stated that according to the current system, trains will be operated after 7 pm only on the basis of passenger demand.
