(UTV | YEMEN) – In a press conference, the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Peter Maurer illustrated that warring parties were asked to facilitate the committee’s movement to reach war detainees.
He confirmed that the Red Cross is willing to undertake more prisoner exchange deals between the recognized Government and Houthi militias.
The last of which was the deal that occurred last October. The president called upon the warring parties to facilitate pulling bodies in the war-stricken region in which the Red Cross will act as an impartial mediator.
