(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Department of Meteorology predicts showers or thundershowers at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-western and Northern provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts today.
Heavy showers above 100 mm can be expected at some places in these areas.
The Met Department added that showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere particularly during the afternoon or night with fairly heavy showers above 75 mm in some places.
The general public has been requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
