Gujarat bridge collapse: President expresses deepest condolences to India

(UTV | COLOMBO) – President Ranil Wickremesinghe says he is shocked and saddened by the tragic accident in Morbi, Gujarat, where at least 130 people have died after a pedestrian bridge collapsed last evening

In a message of condolence to the Government of India, President Wickremesinghe said the people of Sri Lanka join him in extending their condolences to the government, people of India and the families of those who lost their lives.

The President also wished speedy recovery to those injured and success in the rescue and recovery operations that are underway.
