Govt Pushes for Education Equity, NVQ for All Students

Prime Minister (PM) and Education Minister Harini Amarasuriya stressed that underprivileged schools must be selected for development through District Development Committee approval, not favoritism.

Speaking at an awareness event in the Eastern Province on 13 July, she highlighted upcoming education reforms aimed at providing every student with NVQ certification, workforce readiness, or university access.

The reforms will focus on curriculum, infrastructure, and collaboration across all education bodies.
