General Election related complaints go past 5,000

UTV | COLOMBO – The number of complaints filed in relation to the upcoming Parliamentary Election has surpassed 5,000.

206 complaints were lodged during a 24-hour period that ended at 4pm on Sunday. The Election Commission noted that all complaints are pertaining to flouting of election laws.

Accordingly, the Election Commission stated that 993 complaints have been lodged with the National Election Complaints Management Centre, while a total of 4,080 complaints have been lodged with the District Election Complaints Management Centres thus far.
