(UTV | IRAQ) – The US Embassy in the Green zone was targeted on Tuesday by an armed drone.
The US air defense system (C-RAM) was able to intercept it and shot it down with no casualties.
Frequent attacks targeting the embassy riled up civil activists and intellectuals, referring that such attacks aim at conveying negative messages to the international community, not to mention that they undermine Iraq’s sovereignty.
They also pointed out that uncontrolled weapons and the ongoing conflict between Iran and the US transformed Iraq into a battleground that threatens foreign interests.
