Dollars released to two State Banks to facilitate clearance of essential food items

(UTV | COLOMBO) – Around 400 containers of essential food items at the Colombo Port have been released.

Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Ajith Nivard Cabraal said the Central Bank released US $50 million to two state banks for this purpose.

The Food Importers Association expressed hope that the remaining containers will also be released in the near future.
