Bimal asks the President to withdraw ACSA & SOFA

(UTV|COLOMBO) – JVP Parliamentarian Bimal Ratnayake has directed a letter to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa requesting him to table a proposal in Parliament withdrawing the Acquisition and Cross Servicing Agreement and Status of Forces Agreement signed with the United States as it poses a threat to national security and sovereignty.

The Parliamentarian in his letter details that due to the growing unrest in the Middle East, Sri Lanka could be drawn into the conflict as a stakeholder.

The MP stressed that the JVP will fully support the President if a proposal is tabled to withdraw the ACSA and SOFA agreements.
