Another 71 arrested for violating quarantine regulations

(UTV | COLOMBO) – The Sri Lanka Police says that 71 people have been arrested for violating quarantine regulations within the 24-hour window that ended at 06:00 a.m. today (20).

Accordingly, as of now, a total of 81,131 people have so far been arrested for quarantine law violations since the onset of the pandemic.

Police said 618 people who attempted to cross the provincial borders were turned back at 13 roadblocks set up at the exit and entry points of the Western Province.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health says that the decision on whether or not to remove the inter-Provincial travel restrictions will be announced today (20).
