(UTV | COLOMBO) – Another 317 persons have been arrested during the past 24 hours on charges of violating quarantine regulations, while five vehicles have been seized.
Accordingly a total of 78,914 persons have been arrested on the relevant charges since October last year.
Police said 2,243 persons travelling in 1,535 vehicles were inspected at 13 entry and exit points to the Western Province yesterday.
274 persons travelling in 161 vehicles, without the required permits, had been sent back at the checkpoints.
