Prime Minister’s Office refutes news on IGP

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Prime Minister’s Office refutes the news item carried by a private media channel which stated the Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has asked the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara to resign from Office, the Director General of Government Information Department Sudarshana Gunawardana stated.

It was earlier reported by a private media channel that the IGP Jayasundara has been requested by President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe to hand over his resignation letter within two-weeks.
