Japanese Defence Minister to visit Sri Lanka today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Japanese Defence Minister Itsunori Onodera is scheduled to visit Sri Lanka for the first time in history on a two-day official visit today (20).

During his stay, Minister Onodera will hold Japan – Sri Lanka Defence Minister consultations with State Minister of Defence Ruwan Wijewardene, as well as call on top Sri Lankan Government Leaders. He is also planning to have field visits outside Colombo.

The Embassy of Japan expects that this visit would help further consolidate the “Comprehensive Partnership” between Japan and Sri Lanka.
