Salambakulam garbage issue to be resolved

(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – Chairman of the District Coordinating Committee, Vavuniya, Minister Raishard Bathiudeen has ordered to prepare a plan to remove the pile of garbage which was lying in Puthiya Saalambakulam , Vavuniya for 15 years with immediate effect.

The minister recently inspected the venue, where the pile of garbage is placed which has caused many health hazards to the people and the University students in that area.

According to the minister, the Ministry of Provincial Council and Local Government has allocated Rs. 200 million to begin a recycling project in a 10 acre uninhabited land owned by the government.

“We will solve this issue before the end of this year”, the minister said.
