Legal action against three-wheelers without fare meters

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The National Council for Road Safety (NCRF) said that stern legal action will be taken against passenger transport three-wheelers without fare meters.

Accordingly, a fine will be imposed by the Police on passenger transport three-wheelers without fare meters, as per the instructions of the Transport Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva.

The Government has made it mandatory for three-wheelers to have fare meters from 01 August.

The decision has been taken in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee appointed to examine the manner in which the law has been implemented in respect of three wheeler drivers.
