“Passport shortage to be ended within 2-months” – Emigration and Immigration Controller General

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The present shortage of Passports (All Country) will be ended within two-months, the Government Information Department quoted the Controller General of Emigration and Immigration Nihal Ranasinghe.

Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a proposal made by the Minister of Internal Affairs and Wayamba Development S. B. Navinna to order one million passports covering all countries.

Accordingly, the process of ordering those passports began today (28), Mr. Ranansinghe said.

He further stressed that the passports printed for Middle East countries will be issued as passports (All Country) until the newly ordered passports are available.
