(UDHAYAM, COLOMBO) – The Ministry of Higher Education announced that it directed South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) to suspend admissions for six months, until the issues surrounding the private medical faculty are resolved.
The decision to do so was taken following Minister of Higher Education, Lakshman Kiriella’s meeting with the Deans of the eight state medical faculties yesterday (13th February).
It was also decided to allow the current graduates and undergraduates of SAITM to join a one-month special training programme upon graduation.
