(UTV|COLOMBO) – The British High Commission in Colombo says it received a letter from the Free Trade Zones and General Services Employees Union (FTZ & GSEU) on behalf of their union members employed by ATG Ceylon Pvt. Ltd., based within the Katunayake Investment Promotion Zone.
The British High Commission said that following a demonstration outside its premises earlier today (22), the mission received a letter from the Free Trade Zones and General Services Employees Union (FTZ & GSEU) on behalf of their union members employed by ATG Ceylon Pvt. Ltd., based within the Katunayake Investment Promotion Zone regarding a dispute.
In a brief statement, the British High Commission in Colombo said the matter is one to be resolved between the management of ATG Ceylon Pvt. Ltd., and leaders of the FTZ & GSEU through the dispute resolution mechanisms of the Sri Lankan legal system.
ATG Ceylon (Pvt) Limited formed by a Sri Lanka British partnership is a PVC glove manufacturing plant located in the Katunayake Free Trade Zone. It has been in operation in Sri Lanka since 1992.
