(UTV|COLOMBO) – A shooting incident transpired in the Matara on Friday (22) between the Police and a group of robbers in which a Policeman was killed and three people were injured.
The prime suspect involved in the incident was later arrested along with two motorcycles and a gun.
Reportedly, a gun battle erupted when a gang attempted to rob a jewellery store in the Matara Town. Three Policemen and a civilian were injured in the shooting and were admitted to hospital.
One Policeman succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
