Indians are eligible for UAE visa on arrival

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The ease of acquiring a visa on arrival is an important factor that comes into play when choosing holiday destinations.

With Eid Al Fitr approaching fast, and as holidaymakers look at last-minute getaways, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has issued a reminder about how Indian passport holders can get a UAE visa on arrival.

This means that Indians arriving at UAE borders points, including airports and ports, can get a visa as soon as they land in the country if:

  • They have a residency visa from the United Kingdom or from other European countries
  • They have a valid American visa or a Green Card
  • The residency visas must also be valid for more than six months

The GDRFA’s social networking sites on Tuesday evening, also explained that passengers are required to pay an entry permission fee of Dh100 and a Dh20 service fee charge.

“Go to the Marhaba service desk to pay the entry fees, and then go to the passport control counter,” said the GDRFA.

“The maximum period allowed an entry permit holder can stay in the UAE is 14 days, and can be extended once after paying a Dh250 renewal fee and a Dh20 service fee.”

Once the extension is made, travellers can stay for an additional 28 days.

However, overstaying your visa will incur a Dh100 fine for every additional day the traveller stays in the country, in addition to a Dh200 departure permit.
