UTV | COLOMBO – The Inland Revenue Department said that 60,000 new tax files have been opened by 31st May since new tax laws came in to effect.
Commissioner General Ivan Dissanayake said that it is expected that it would increase up to 250 thousand by the end of the year.
He further said that they expect the number of tax payers to be around 3 Million by the year 2020.
