CID to probe railway property damages

(UTV|COLOMBO) – Railway Department has lodged a complaint with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) requesting to probe into damages caused to property during the strike launched by Railway Technical Services Trade Unions.

However, the Railway Technical Services Trade Union Committee denied claims that its members damaged property belonging to the Department of Railways.

The Union stressed that the incident could be a result of attempts to disrupt the on-going strike action.

The 48-hour Token Strike launched at 4.00 PM Tuesday (29) by the Railway Technical Services Trade Union Committee is currently underway.
