Monsoon conditions establishing over Sri Lanka – Met. Department

(UTV|COLOMBO) – South-West monsoon conditions are getting established over the island and therefore showers or thunder showers will occur at times in Western, Southern, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western Provinces, the Department of Meteorology said.

Showers or thundershowers will occur most places elsewhere particularly after 2.00 PM.

Heavy falls, above 100 mm can be expected at some places, particularly in Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Western Provinces and in Galle and Matara Districts.

Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces during the morning.
