Indian Army Chief visits Eastern Naval Command

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Chief of Army Staff of Indian Army, General Bipin Rawat who is currently in Sri Lanka on an official tour, called at the Eastern Naval Command on Wednesday (16).

The visiting Army Chief was warmly received by Commander Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Niraja Attygalle after he was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with naval traditions.

They exchanged views on several matters of bilateral importance in the ensuing cordial discussion and exchanged mementoes to mark this significant occasion as well. Subsequently, General Rawat took time off to pay a visit to the Naval Museum located at the Naval Dockyard. A group of senior officers attached to the Eastern Naval Command were also present on this occasion.
