UTV | COLOMBO – Five persons have been arrested in connection with the stealing of the Golden Peacock Lifetime Medal of late veteran film director Dr.Lester James Peries.
The medal was thought to have gone missing on Wednesday (May 02), at the time of the funeral of late Dr. Peries.
A senior police officer conducting the investigation said that the suspects had been apprehended during raids conducted in Kaduwela, Matugama and Navalapitiya.
Ongoing investigations are being carried out by a special police team.
