Police and Forensic Science University to be established soon

The cabinet paper on Police and Forensic Science University will be presented to the cabinet in the near future said Minister of Law and Order and Southern development Sagala Ratnayaka.
He made these comments while engaged in a tour to inspect the land for the proposed Police University at Attidiya yesterday(7th Feb).
Minister said the government has decided to establish the Police and Forensic Science University and the main aim of establishing the university is to provide an opportunity for people in the field as well as those who want learn about Police and Forensic Science and for foreign students who are interested in this area.
He said the government is also looking at the possibility of giving an opportunity to the chidren of the Police and Tri forces also to study at this university.
Former Inspector General of police M.K. Illangakoon is the head of the committee appointed to start the university and a cabinet paper will be presented to get the required legal approval in the near future.
Minister Ratnayaka said that they are looking at the possibility of linking this university with Foreign Universities too.
