Special trains for New Year from today

(UTV|COLOMBO) – The Department of Railways has taken steps to operate special train services for Sinhala and Tamil New Year Festival. The Railway Department has announced that three special trains will be operated from today (09).

A special train with an air-conditioned compartment would be run from Colombo Fort to Bandarawela at 7.20 a.m. Another train would be operated at 1.35 p.m., to Mahawa from Colombo Fort.

A special train will be run at 5.10 p.m. from Mahawa to Colombo. Special train services will be in operation to various regions of the country until the 17th of this month.

A special train has been added to Bandarawela and Colombo Fort and Colombo Fort and Mahawa on the 10th of this month as well.

On the 11th of this month a special train will be operated between Colombo and Mahawa at 1.05 p.m. and another one between Mahawa and Colombo at 5.10 p.m.

Two special train services has been added between Maradana and Galle at 8.20 a,m. and 11.50 am. on the 11th.

Two train services will be in operation between Matara and Maradana at 7.00 p.m. and Maradana and Matara at 2.55 p.m, on the same day.

The Railway Department has announced that two special trains will be run between Galle and Colombo Fort at 1.15 p.m. and 5.55 p.m.
